Wilma Jean Davy

Age 90 of Coal City, passed away Thursday morning, April 14, 2016 at Park Pointe in Morris.

Born October 6, 1925 in Coal City, Wilma Jean was a daughter of the late Willis L. and Dorothy M. (Spellman) Tarman. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1943. On December 24, 1946, Wilma married Elvin Davy in the Coal City Methodist Church. She was member of Coal City United Methodist Church and the Grundy County Homemakers Extension. Wilma enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles, and will be most remembered for her love of her grandchildren.

Survivors include five children: Neil Davy of West Liberty, Iowa, Carol (Bill) Narwick of Morris, Nancy (Ted) Lihou of Port Byron, Illinois and Paul (Myra) Davy and Mary Beth (Chris) Anderson, both of Coal City; seven grandchildren: Sherry Onsen, Scott (Charlotte) Onsen, Brent (Kristina) Davy, Kristi (Adam) Roberts, Bryana Lihou, Justin (Allison) Anderson and Colin Anderson; seven great grandchildren: Wyatt and Dylan Onsen, Ella, Austin and Rylan Davy, Cooper and Zoe Roberts; one sister Betty (William) Minck of Middletown, Ohio; one sister-in-law Lynne Tarman of Coal City and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her cousin Bernard Ravnaas of Plano.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elvin on November 22, 2001; two brothers: Richard Tarman and Robert (Rita) Tarman and one sister Faye (Melvin) Dearth.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Tuesday morning, April 19th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Bradley Schumaker from Coal City United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Elvin.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Wilma's memory to the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road, Coal City, Illinois 60416.
