Age 67 of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday April 13, 2008 at Morris Hospital.

Born October 17, 1940 in Seneca, Bill was a son of the late Charles and Mary Gordon-Talty. He was raised and educated in Coal City and was a Graduate of Coal City High School with the Class of 1958. Bill was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, as well as the Grundy County Farm Bureau and various other local organizations. He farmed in the rural Coal City area his entire life and worked for the State of Illinois prior to gaining employment in the automobile industry in 1969. In 1974 Bill along with his brother Tom co-founded Talty Chevrolet a�" Buick - Cadillac in Morris and for over 30 years received numerous awards of excellence from General Motors, Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac, as well as the Automobile Industry. He was proud to have been able to work alongside his children both on the farm and at the dealership throughout his career and also took pride in the fact that he was one of the longest standing Chevrolet Dealerships in the Chicagoland area.

Survivors include his three children: Rebecca (Mark) Finn of South Wilmington and Richard (Carol) Talty and Kenneth (Debbie) Talty, along with their mother Helen J. Hill-Talty, all of Coal City. Six grandchildren: Lauren Finn, Ryan and Tyler Talty and Brandon, Kyle and Justin Talty. His loving companion of 14 years Darenda Hood; one sister Margaret (the late Frank) Stahler of Watseka; niece and nephews: William (Betsy) Stahler, Teresa (Mike) LaReau and David (Julie) Stahler and several great nieces and great nephews, as well as numerous cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Patricia Talty and two brothers: James Talty and Thomas Talty.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday April 16, 2008 between the hours of 3:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Thursday April 17th at 10:00AM in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Mike Pennock officiating.

Burial will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Ransom and pallbearers will be: William Stahler, David Stahler, James Stahler, Ryan Talty, Tyler Talty, Brandon Talty, Lauren Finn, Kyle Talty and Justin Talty.
