William S. Lewis

Age 68 of Goose Lake, passed away Sunday May 15, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born February 16, 1943 in Joliet, Bill was a son of the late Leroy and Viva Brown-Lewis. He was raised and educated in Joliet and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School with the Class of 1962. On August 4, 1965, Bill married Diana Reyes in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Joliet and together they resided in Joliet until moving to Goose Lake in 1985. Bill retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet in 1999 after 35 years of service and was the current president of the Goose Lake Association. Bill loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed old cars and played euchre for 30 years. He can also be remembered for taking pleasure in cutting the grass, landscaping and gardening.

Survivors include his wife Diana; four children: Timothy (Lynn) Reyes of Crest Hill, Patricia (Randall) Brott of Wilton Center, Mary Elizabeth Osmonson of Minooka and Christian (Sarah) Lewis of Channahon; eight grandchildren: Diana (Dan) Coffey of Essex, Beth Reyes of Crest Hill, Steven Reyes of Naperville, Elyssa Osmonson, Cassandra Osmonson and William Osmonson, of Minooka and Peyton Brott and Priscilla Brott, both of Wilton Center; three great grandchildren: Sam, Paul and Evelyn; three sisters: Sandra (John) Mizicko of Joliet, Bonnie (Butch) Chellino of Braidwood and Diane (Lynwood) Kneip of Channahon; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Sal Reyes of Joliet and Dorothy (Rudolph) Carlson and Richard (Deb) Reyes, both of Goose Lake and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Kim (Ken) Bosman and their son Zachary of Channahon, who was like a daughter to Bill.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Thursday May 19, 2011 from 3:00PM until time of funeral service 6:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway in Coal City.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to the American Lung Association.
