William D. Leverance

Age 80 of Inverness, formerly Wilmington, Chicago, Foster City, California and Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday July 24, 2016 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.

Born June 24, 1936 in Tomahawk, William Duane was the son of William P. and Florence Piper-Leverance. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, served honorably in the United States Air Force, and was employed by United Airlines from 1967 until retirement in 2014, as a computer specialist. William was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington, and enjoyed coin collecting and prospecting.  He was an avid sports fan that loved skating and painting.

Survivors include his niece and nephew: Debra (Christopher) Cooley and Charles (Lynn) Cracraft; and his great nieces and great nephew, whom he enjoyed spending his holidays with.

William was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Marlyn R. Cracraft; and brother-in-law: Frank L. Cracraft.

Cremation rites are being accorded and a private burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
