"Bill"
Age 73 of Morris, Illinois, formerly of Joliet, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet.
Born May 4, 1950 in Sycamore, Illinois, William Marshall was a son of Wayne and Vietta (Long) Johnson. He was raised in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central High School with the Class of 1968. Following high school, Bill served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1973.
Following his military service, he gained employment with the railroad company before he went to work for Commonwealth Edison. Bill later held employment with and retired from Midwest Generating as a turbine operator. He also served as a part time Will County Sherriff Deputy, and was an avid gun and rifle enthusiast. Bill loved going to the range to use his firearms, but he also just enjoyed spending as much time outdoors as possible, especially fishing. He enjoyed going to local auctions or sales and developed an affinity for antique clocks, learning to refurbish them.
Survivors include three children: Angela Wood (Michael Riolla) and Nichole (Chuck) Lacey, both of Morris, and James Johnson of Warsaw, Missouri; grandchildren: Chance, Savannah, Jordyn, and Carter; and two sisters: Linda Johnson and Lisa Johnson, both of Joliet.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one son, William J. Johnson, and one brother, Dennis Johnson.
