William Dooling

William E. Dooling

Age 85 of Homer Glen, passed away Thursday evening June 19, 2014.

Born October 6, 1928 in Chicago, William was a son of the late William and Catherine (Reid) Dooling. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School and University of Detroit. William was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the China Campaign, and member of the Central Officials Association.

William was the devoted husband of Margaret (nee Haffner) Dooling. Loving father of The Honorable Deborah Mary Dooling, Karen (Leo) Reeves, Janice (John) Mierzwa, Peggy (Mark) Dooling-Baker, Katie Dooling, and Eileen (Vince) Schmidt. Grandfather of James, Alex and Joseph Reeves, Will Mierzwa, Elizabeth and Meg Baker, Abigail and Caroline Plecki, and Ashley Schmidt. Brother of Timothy (Jolana) Dooling.

William was preceded in death by his brothers Donald and James Dooling and granddaughter Catherine Mary Dooling.

Visitation will be held on Sunday June 22, from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at Richard J. Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 12641 West 143rd Street in Homer Glen (708-301-3595). The family will receive friends Monday June 23rd at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 16043 South Bell Road in Homer Glen from 10:00AM until time of Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00AM. Reverend Jeremiah Lynch, S.J. will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to the Misericordia Home.
