William L. Burden

William LeRoy Burden: Bill, the Culver's ambassador, was called back to heaven to see and hear Elvis and the band again on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Bill was born July 23, 1942, to LeRoy William Burden and Marie Hiney Burden of Morris. He attended Morris Immaculate Conception School (ICS) and graduated from Morris High School in 1960. He worked at numerous chemical plants in the area and the Dresden power plant, retiring in 1998 to spend more time with his mother, Marie, who died a year later. Bill was a Vietnam army veteran, serving from 1964 to 1966. He was a member of Morris Moose Lodge 967, the First Baptist Church of Morris, and a Quarterback Club member for the Morris Redskins.
Bill thanks his parents for teaching him common sense and putting the needs of others first. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed giving gifts, to both his friends and people he didn't know. Among the beneficiaries are We Care of Grundy County, Single Mom Ministry of the Morris Baptist Church, and the Jim Feeney Memorial Scholarship at ICS. A committed blood donor, Bill gave 35 gallons and 3 pints over his lifetime.
Bill was an avid fan of both Elvis Presley and the Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed spring training baseball games in Arizona and trips to Las Vegas. On February 9, 2002, he was married to Linda McCowan Eipers (she was the best thing of his life) in Las Vegas by an Elvis tribute artist. Bill and Linda worked at Culver's in Morris -- Bill as the "ambassador", where he enjoyed chatting about life and sports with old friends and new people.
Bill is survived by Linda and her children Tracey Roth (Steve), Jerry Eipers (Ashley), and Brian Eipers (Katie) and her grandchildren Hailey and Howie; and by his stepdaughter Leslie Lekberg (Russ) and his grandchildren Rusty, Timmy, Mikey, and Katy.
Linda and Bill thank Lightways Hospice of Joliet and the compassionate nurses and CNA's at Villa Franciscan Place in Joliet for the great care Bill received.
There will be no funeral service or visitation per Bill’s request.
Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris is in charge of arrangements. For more information, call the funeral home at 815-942-0700 or sign the online guestbook at www.frulandfuneralhome.com .
