William Anthony Bosnak
"Bill"
Age 79 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday February 15, 2012 at his home.
Bill was a son of the late Frank and Mary Bosnak. He was raised and educated in Chicago, graduated from the University of Illinois and honorably served in the United States Army. Bill was a principal at various schools throughout the Chicagoland area, and retired from Alan B. Shepard High School in Orland Park. He was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and will be remembered for his strong faith and involvement within the parish.
Survivors include his daughter Linda McDonald of Mertens, Texas; grandson Cody McDonald of Ferris, Texas; one sister Fran (Art) Zolner of Maryland and the mother of his daughter: Geri Bosnak of Wilmington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother John Bosnak and sister Ann Lavelle.
Visitation was held on Saturday February 18, 2012 from 1:00PM until 1:45PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services followed at 2:00PM in Saint Rose Catholic Church, 624 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating.
Committal services and burial will be Tuesday February 21, 2012 in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Family and friends wishing to attend may meet at the funeral home at 9:00AM. A procession for the cemetery will depart at 9:30 for services, which will be conducted at 10:00AM. Deacon Don Dyer will officate.
