William "Billy" Paul Bowker Jr.

Age 67 of Wilmington, Illinois, died September 12, 2024 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois.

Born June 21, 1957, in Joliet, William Paul was a beloved son of William and Helen (Fink) Bowker. He was born and raised in Wilmington, and graduated Wilmington High School with the class of 1976. During high school William began working at Hauck Oil, working alongside his father. His professional journey continued as a truck driver before he eventually joined the Local 75 Laborers Union, where he proudly worked until his retirement.

William enjoyed doing yard work and riding his scooter around the neighborhood. His greatest passion was riding his motorcycle—he loved nothing more than taking joyrides around town, feeling the wind and sun on the open road.

Known and loved by many, William had a way of leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Survivors include two sisters, Delena Boze, and Delma (Don) Wills; one brother, Rob (Cherie) Bowker; and his brother- in - law, Jeff Hollis. He was cherished by several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews, and his special family by choice: Dave (Ann) Hill, Brittany (Lawrence) Painter, Jake (Lexi Bucciarelli) Hill, and Colter Jakob Hill.

William was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mavoureen Hollis; one brother-in- law, John Boze; and his niece, Patty Crum.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, 700 Williams Street, in Wilmington on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.

Donations may be made in William's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
