Warren E. Dunbar

Age 78 of Goose Lake and formerly Joliet and Phillips, Wisconsin, passed away Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Morris Hospital.

Born September 7, 1935 in Joliet, Warren was a son of the late George and Dorothy Barnett-Dunbar. He was raised in Joliet and honorably served in the United States Army. Warren retired from Gardner Warehouse in Joliet and will be remembered for his enjoyment of hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Shirley, whom he married on May 29, 1958; two sons: Mike (Cindy) Dunbar of Goose Lake and Ed (Laurie) Dunbar of Braceville; three grandchildren: Michael, Jr. (Callie) Dunbar of Goose Lake, Jennifer (Keith) Munsell of Minooka and Bailey Dunbar of Gardner; one great granddaughter Emily Munsell; four brothers and two sisters: Art (Marie) Dunbar, Harry (Ruby) Dunbar, Roy (Mickey) Dunbar, Darlene (George) Ballantine, Mary (Jack) Quirk and Robert Dunbar, and three sisters-in-law: Kay Dunbar, Diane Dunbar and Mary Lou Dunbar, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters: Dorothy (Bliss) Olsen, George Dunbar, Harold Dunbar, Francis (Donna) Dunbar, Jerry Dunbar and Barbara Dunbar.

Cremation rites have been accorded and the family will receive friends on Thursday January 23, 2014 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. A memorial service will follow Friday morning January 24th at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Inurnment with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
