Walter F. Reinbacher, 91, of Morris, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
Born July 16, 1932 in Chicago and grew up in Cicero, he was the son of Otto and Martha (Massat) Reinbacher. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1952 as a mechanic stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He married Esther Cramblitt on June 18, 1971 and the last 20 years resided in Morris, IL. He was a proud member of Local 150 since 1962 as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by children: Eugene Reinbacher (Pat) of Ocala, FL; Kenneth Reinbacher of Yorkville, IL; Jay Reinbacher (Melinda) of Oswego, IL; Cindy Rhodes (Luther) of Corinth, MS; Cheryl Skrobuton (Michael) of Morris, IL; Linnea Reinbacher (Adam) of Phoenix, AZ; and Jeffrey Reinbacher of Braidwood, IL.
He is also survived by his Sister Judie Warren (John late) of Trenton, TN; Sister Gertrude Salvino (Dominic) of N. Riverside, IL; and Brother Otto “Sonny” Reinbacher (Rosalie) of Washington, DC.
Also, are survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Esther Reinbacher; Brother George Reinbacher (Trudy); Sister Maggie Lisle (Richard late); Sister Erna Mayer (Ed late); and Grandson Jeremy Reinbacher.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Wally enjoyed boating, attending car shows, traveling to assorted casinos, and especially spending time with his family.
Memorials can be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris, IL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at 2pm at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 West Jefferson Street, with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Military honors will be provided by the Morris Color Guard with his son in-law, Luther Rhodes participating with the color guard.
