Vivian Hannum
Age 80 of Fort Worth, Texas and a former resident of Coal City and Wilmington, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017.
Born May 25, 1936 in Chicago, Vivian Sophie was the daughter of the late Mike and Elsie (Cihak) Macaluso. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1954. On May 5, 1956 Vivian married, Jack Hannum in Coal City, and her employment entailed working with the Federal Government in Joliet from 1954 to 1959 and in Ft. Leonard Wood from 1959-1960. Vivian and her family relocated to Donahue, Iowa in 1973, and she later gained employment with Iowa East Central Train from 1985 to 1992. It was in 1992 that Vivian returned to the Wilmington area, until retiring to Ft. Worth, Texas in 2001.
Vivian's many interests included cooking and collecting cookbooks. She also enjoyed playing the organ, board games and cards, especially Yahtzee. Her most treasured times were spent with her four grandchildren and her grand-dog Daisy.
Survivors include her two daughters: Teri Potter (Mark Carter) of Bedford, Texas and Jenny (Keith) Hays of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren: Hayley (Austin) McIntire, Taylor Hays and Grace Hays all of Fort Worth, Texas and Cameron Potter of Bedford, Texas; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Haldorson of Wilmington and Fran Hannum of Arizona; two nieces: Mary Jo Morgan and Tracey Brownlee, both of Wilmington; one nephew: Mickey Hannum of North Carolina and numerous cousins, as well as her dear friend since grade school: Lavonne "Bonnie" Lockwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jack Hannum; two brothers-in-law: John Haldorson and Mike Hannum, and one nephew: Mark Haldorson.
Per Vivian's wishes cremation rites were accorded.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
