Virginia J. Bennett
Age 75 of Coal City passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born March 10, 1941 in Joliet, Virginia Josephine was the daughter of Rudolph and Josephine (Dulny) Seppi. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Township High School. She was employed by Shelby Craft Company in Shorewood for ten years, and was active in local community activities as a softball coach, Girls Scout Leader and as a delivery person for Meals on Wheels. Virginia was a wonderful homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She had a gift for crafts and sewing, and loved to read. Virginia loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.
Survivors include her husband: Myrland “Mo” Bennett; three children: Lorraine (Becky) Curran, Christine (Daniel) Reigh, and Ginger (John) Brickey; five step-children: Mark (Suzanne) Bennett, David Bennett, Julia (Shawn) Watters, Jane (John) Farley and Suzanne Haskins; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one brother: Rudolph (Judy) Seppi; sister-in-law: Cheryl Seppi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: James W. Breen; two sons: James M. Breen and Eric T. Breen, and one brother: Thomas Seppi.
Per Virginia’s wishes, flameless cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation and video tribute will be Monday, March 6, 2017 at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway, in Coal City from 5:00 p.m. until time of memorial service, 7:30 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at Reeves Funeral Home on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., to travel in funeral procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, in Elwood, for 11:30 a.m. interment.
