Viola Marie Watson

Age 91 of Coal City, passed away Saturday February 10, 2007 at Morris Hospital.

Born March 05, 1915 in South Wilmington, Viola was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Walker) Allen. She was raised and educated in South Wilmington and graduated from Gardner a�" South Wilmington High School. On June 26, 1937 Viola married Thomas Watson in Gardner and shortly after their marriage they moved from South Wilmington to Coal City, where they resided the remainder of their married life. Viola was a member of Coal City United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the Friendship Circle. She enjoyed cooking for her family and she was a gentle person whose family and friends were her prized possessions.

Survivors include her son Dale (Sharon) Watson and daughter Faye (Harold) Holsinger and grandchildren: Lori (Tom) McKinney, Julie Watson, Brent (Russelle) Holsinger, Keith (Anne) Watson and Suzanne (Chris) Jackson, all of Coal City. Great grandchildren: Rachael (Nate), Ranell (Matt), Brittany, Will, Tyler, Joseph and Kylie. One great great grandchild due in September and two sisters-in-law: Irene Watson of Coal City and Frances Allen of So. Wilmington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Viola was preceded by her parents; husband Thomas Watson (April 5, 1986), three brothers: Harvey Allen, Lester Allen and Tim Allen; one sister Erma (Tony) Zerboglio and one nephew Jon Allen.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday February 13, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Viola will then lie in state Wednesday February 14th from 9:00AM until time of funeral services 10:00AM at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 McArdle Rd. in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon will officiate and burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brent Holsinger, Keith Watson, Tom McKinney, Chris Jackson, Denny Watson and Rich Allen.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Viola's memory to the Coal City United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
