Verna Caroline Vilt

Age 92 of Coal City, passed away Saturday morning July 13, 2013 at Heritage Health Care in Dwight.

Born June 13, 1921 in Morris, Verna was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillie Summers-Lynes. She was raised and educated in Morris and married Tony F. Vilt in Sandwich. Verna will be remembered for her love of cleaning, cooking, working cryptogram puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Gary Vilt of Coal City; three grandchildren: Kari (Scott) Hopper of Coal City, Ali Vilt of Braidwood and Russell Vilt of Chicago and three great grandchildren: Jake, Layne and Veronica, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Helen Carr and brother Earl "Sonny" Lynes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 16, 2013 from 11:00AM until time of life celebration 1:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Verna will be laid to rest with her husband Tony.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Verna's memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
