Age 93 of Coal City, passed away Saturday morning April 7, 2012 at Walnut Grove Village in Morris.

Born November 29, 1918 in Carbon Hill, Verna was a daughter of the late John and Margaret Rolando - Enrietta. She was raised and educated in Carbon Hill, and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1936. On June 3, 1939, Verna married Michael Rawlish in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and together they lived their entire married life in Coal City. After high school Verna worked for Granerts as a seamstress and was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of sewing, crocheting, reading and watching sports.

Survivors include her son: Jerry (Anita) Rawlish of Elmhurst; two grandchildren: Christina (Patrick) Wallace of Downers Grove and Tricia (Kevin) Teske of Oak Creek, Wisconson; four great grandchildren: Kelly Wallace, Colleen Wallace, Michael Teske and Gianna Teske, and one sister-in-law: Dorothy (the late John) Enrietta of Morris, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Michael on August 23, 1995; one son: Francis Joseph in infancy; four sisters: Mary (Clarence) Owens, Genevieve (John) Hakey, Evelyn (Larry) Faletti, Elsie (Frank) Groff and two brothers: John Enrietta and Louis (Delphine) Enrietta.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held Tuesday April 10, 2012 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral Services will follow Wednesday April 11th at 10:00AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Brian Shepley officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, and pallbearers will be: Dennis Enrietta, Mark Enrietta, Eugene Smyk, Patrick Wallace, Kevin Teske and Robert Novak, with Robert Durando acting as an honorary pallbearer.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Verna's memory to the Assumption Building Fund.
