Truman J. Eltrevoog, 92, of Dwight, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Heritage Health in Dwight.
Born May 25, 1930 in Ottawa, he was the son of J. Andrew and Kristine (Myre) Eltrevoog. He received his education in the rural schools of Ottawa. He was a veteran and served in the U S Army. He was employed for 35 years at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet. Later in his retirement he farmed for a few years in the Seneca area.
He is survived by his children, David ( Brenda) Eltrevoog of Mazon, Ronald (Cheryl) Eltrevoog of Box Elder, South Dakota and Kristine (Roger) Hoegger of Dwight; three grandchildren, Tracy (Thomas) Justice, Holly (Jeffery) Brockman and Tonya (Angie) Rolando; six great grandchildren, Tyler Bourque, Tynan, Tenley, Tristan Justice, David and Michael Brockman; sister-in-law, Delores Eltrevoog; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, son, Gary; brothers, Ebert, Lawrence, Arthur, Bjarne, Howard and Orville; sisters, Helen Marten and Bertha in infancy.
He was a 45 year member of the American Legion Post 294, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 967 and lifelong member of the Morris Rod and Gun Club.
Truman enjoyed motor cycling on his Honda Gold Wings.
Memorials may be given to the Morris American Legion.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 West Jefferson St. in Morris with Pastor John Mueller officiating. Inurnment will follow in Sample Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Morris Color Guard.
