"Toy"

Age 86, and a former resident of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at home in Prairieville, Louisiana.

Born March 18, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan, Toyoko was a daughter of the late Jutaro and Mutsu (Kobayashi) Imaizumi. She was raised and educated in Kawasaki, Japan until she moved to Wilmington in 1952.  On May 26, 1964 Toy became a U.S. citizen, something she was very proud of.  She worked for the Wilmington School District 209u and Booth Central Elementary School until retirement.  Toy was an active member of the Wilmington Lions Club as well as the Wilmington Garden Club. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts and painting, but most of all spending quality time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Carol Hilgendorf of Wilmington, Jerry (Brenda) Hilgendorf of Prairieville, Louisiana, Doris (Michael) Swisher of Wilmington and Judy (Richard) Heacock of Oakland City, Indiana; grandchildren: Richard Thompson of Arizona, Thomas (Monica) Thompson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jennifer (Joe) Cangelosi, Shannon (Dylan) Mercil and Amanda (Jamie) Swilley, all of Prairieville, Louisiana, Michael Jr. (Jennifer) Swisher and Shawn (Jess) Swisher, both of Wilmington, Robert (Amy) Heacock of Oakland City, Indiana and James (Pam) Heacock of Evansville, Indiana; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother: Shigeo Imaizumi of Japan and two sisters: Candy (Laverne) Kersting of Wisconsin and Masako Masatosi Saito of Japan.

Toy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Vivian Williams; brothers: Kazuo Imaizumi and Mitzuo Imaizumi and sister: Motogi Imaizumi.

Per Toy's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial visitation and video tribute will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service 1:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Inurnment will follow in Wesley Cemetery in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Toy's memory to the Lions Club of Wilmington: 805 River Street, PO Box 662, Wilmington, IL 60481.
