Thomas C. Webster
Age 79 of Morris and formerly of Chicago’s Morgan Park and Midlothian, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park.
Born September 5, 1936 in Chicago, Thomas Cassius, was a son of the late Henry and Frances (White) Webster. He was raised and educated in the Morgan Park neighborhood and went on to honorably serve in the United States Army. Thomas retired as a CNA at Oak Forest Hospital, and will be remembered for his love of playing cards.
Survivors include his wife Betty (nee Rapp), whom he married June 9, 1995 in Chicago; four children: Grace Webster of Nevada, Denise Webster of California, Chicotah (Ramon) Baker of North Carolina and Deanna Preston of Chicago Heights; two step-children: Michelle (Gary) Cooper of Joliet and Mark (Linda) Jentel of Alsip; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; two brothers: Henry Webster, Jr. and Alfred Webster, both of California; his mother-in-law June Rettig of Wilmington; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Deborah (Dale) McInerney of Marseilles and Gerald (Joann) Rapp of Burbank, Illinois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and sisters.
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Friday morning, February 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Dr. Roy Backus officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Thomas’ memory to his family for their distribution.
