Thomas E. Tulley

Age 72 of Sebring, Florida, formerly Wilmington, passed away Tuesday June 18, 2013, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Born August 12, 1940, Thomas was a son of the late Francis and Margaret Quigley-Tulley. He was a graduate from St. Bede Academy with the class of 1958, and continued his education at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa where he earned a Bachelor's degree in business. Thomas farmed for 15 years before joining Quaker Oats in Kankakee as a Maintence Supervisor. He was a former member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center where he was involved with The Knights of Columbus. Thomas was an avid fisherman, often taking fishing trips to Canada. He also loved Indy Car Racing, and attended the Indianapolis 500 for 38 years.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen (nee Meyer); six children: Timothy Tulley of New Lenox, Jim (Caron) Tulley of Algonquin, William Tulley of Shumway, John (Janet) Tulley and Joe Tulley both of Normal, and Maureen (Jeremy) Evans of Mt. Zion; three step-children: Lorie (Jerry) Urban of Gardner, Lisa Gashi of Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin, and Don Amell of Kempton; seventeen grandchildren; one sister Mary (Richard) Wendt of San Jose, California and one nephew Robert Wendt of Seattle, Washington.

Thomas was preceded in death by his Parents: Francis Tulley and Margaret Tulley-Rink; one sister Ann Tulley; one brother Gerald Tulley in infancy, and his step-father Joseph Rink.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial visitation with video tribute will take place Friday June 28, 2013 from 3:00 pm until time of Memorial Service 6:00 pm at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Deacon Milt Leppert from Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center will officiate.

Preferred Memorials may be made as gifts in Thomas' memory to the Salvation Army.
