Thomas Allen Lenertz

Age 58 of Downy, California and formerly of Inglewood, California and West Chicago, Illinois, passed away Friday Morning, July 7, 2017 at the home of his mother in Diamond, Illinois.

Born August 1, 1958 in St. Charles, Illinois, Thomas is the son of Sharon (nee) Wise and the late Eugene Lenertz. He was raised and educated in West Chicago, and graduated from West Chicago High School with the Class of 1976. Thomas worked in customer service for his entire career, employed by both Time Warner Cable for 15 years and Adelphi Communications for 12 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and camping, as well as bowling.

Survivors include his mother: Sharon Lenertz of Diamond, IL; five siblings: Daniel (Alecia) Lenertz of West Chicago, IL, Stephen (Sue) Lenertz of Earlville, IL, Sherry (Tim) Jassak of Kenosha, WI, Kathryn (Mike) Grimm of Batavia, IL, and Liza (Rob) Ruff of Houston, TX; eleven nieces and nephews: Jeff Lenertz, Laurie Sweezy, Kate Lenertz, Philip Lenertz, Pamela Burla, Ken Plank, Mike Jassak, Sarah Jassak, Dana Minick, Elly Ruff and Mary Ruff; and special friends: Lucy Espinoza of South Gate, CA, Rocio Tamyo of Long Beach, CA, and Sonia Aguilar of South Gate, CA.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father: Eugene K. Lenertz.

Per Thomas’ wishes, flameless cremation rites have been accorded.
