Thomas “Tom” Johnson, 83, of Morris, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Regency Care of Morris.
Tom was born July 24, 1938 in Dwight, Il to the late Lawrence and Susie (Sandeno) Johnson. He was raised and educated in Gardner, graduating with the class of 1956 from Dwight High School.
Tom served in the U.S. Army from January 18, 1961 – January 10, 1963. He then went to work at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet until his retirement. Tom spent many years traveling the U.S. and loved to visit National Parks and watch sports. He enjoyed spending time with family and going to watch his great nieces and nephews participate in their various school activities. He will always be remembered by his generosity and his strong faith in Christ.
Tom is survived by his niece, Jami (Scott) Wilkinson of Verona; nephew, Jeff (Jody) Jenkins of Florida; five great nieces and nephews, Lexi, Cora and Ian Wilkinson, Dylan and Katelyn Jenkins and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; special aunt and uncle, Loyd and Alice Sandeno, his sister, Aleda Jenkins, and various cousins.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 202 W. Jefferson St. in Morris, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life following, Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Burial will follow at Gardner Prairie Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at Maria’s Ristorante in Morris following the burial.
Memorials may be made in Tom’s name to Gardner Prairie Cemetery or to the donor’s choice.
