Age 92 of Morris, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born November 27, 1919 in Scotland, Thomas was a son of Alexander and Margaret Soutar-Brown. He was raised and educated in Chicago; graduated from Fenger High School and honorably served in the United States Air Force during world War II. On May 20, 1949, Thomas married Joan M. Oyler in Chicago and together they lived most of their married life in Chicago, until retiring to Goose Lake in 1980. Thomas was employed as a truck driver for the City of Chicago until retirement, and was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City. In Thomas' spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and carving, and will be remembered for his love of spending time with family.

Survivors include his two children: Jeffrey (Patricia) Brown of Beecher and Wendy (Edward R.) Nabzdyk of Morris; six grandchildren: Rodger (Sharon) Hilger of Homer Glenn, Lisa Hilger of Orland Park, Erin Brown of Crete, Amanda Brown of Beecher, Jill Nabzdyk of Morris and Thomas E. (Jennifer) Nabzdyk of Morris; two great grandchildren: Aric Hilger and Michael Skiotes with another expected and one brother David Alexander (Caryl) Brown of Naperville, as well as nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Joan in 2001 and one sister: Margaret Taylor Brown-Puhrman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 5, 2012 from 12:00PM until time of funeral service 2:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of IL Route 47) in Morris. Reverend Nate Manzo from New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City will officiate and a private family burial will be in Sample Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Thomas' memory to a charity of the donors choosing.
