Theresse S. Norton

Age 69 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday December 11, 2014 at her home in Wesley Township.

Born October 20, 1945 in Olney, Illinois, Theresse was a daughter of the late Elmer R., Jr. and Velma (Cummins) Rodgers. She was raised and educated in Kankakee and on October 10, 1964, Theresse married Donald Norton. She served on the Wilmington Fire Department for several years and later managed and operated Minute Gas Station and Convenience Store in Wilmington and Manhattan until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband Donald; two sons: John Norton of Wilmington and Ron Norton of Florida; two grandchildren: Sarah and Kyle; two great grandchildren; brother Allen Rodgers of Bourbonnais; sister Carol Boyd of Hainesville, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday December 15, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation, and inurnment will follow in Kankakee Memorial Gardens, where Theresse will be laid to rest with her parents.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Theresse's memory to the Wilmington Fire Angels, 501 North Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
