Theodore R. Boward

"Ted"

Age 78 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 23, 2008 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born October 27, 1930 in Lincoln, IL, Ted was a son of the late George and Birdie Gertz-Boward. He worked as an operating engineer with Local #150 and held employment with K-5 and J.P. Construction. Ted was a member of the Wilmington Masonic Lodge AF&AM #241, the Wilmington Moose Lodge and the 1st United Methodist Church of Wilmington. Ted was an avid hunter, euchre, pinochle and poker player and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years: Janalyn "Jan" nee Farley; seven children: Karen (Gail) Lieman of Atlanta, IL, Ted (Renee) of Dover, DE, Raymond of Lincoln, IL, Bruce of Wilmington, Beth (Paul) Rossi of Manteno, Rusty of Lincoln, IL and Thea (Brian) Caplea of Bourbonnais; numerous grand and great grandchildren and sisters: Ilda Heyen, Mina Daumbacher, Norma (Ralph) Duncan and Harriette Richardson.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 29, 2008 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington with a Masonic Services at 7:00PM.

Funeral services will follow on Tuesday December 30th at 10:00AM in the 1st United Methodist Church of Wilmington, 401 East Kahler Road in Wilmington with Rev. Jae Lee and Rev. Missok officiating.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Ted's memory to Hospice of Kankakee, Kuzma Care Cottage or the 1st United Methodist Church of Wilmington.
