Theodora Olympia McNabb
“Doris”
Age 90 of Morris and formerly of Marseilles, passed away Sunday morning, January 24, 2016 at Park Pointe in Morris.
Born November 9, 1925 in Marseilles, Theodora Olympia was a daughter of Italian immigrants, August and Maria (Corsiatto) Bolatto. She was raised and educated in Marseilles, from where she graduated high school. On July 4, 1945, Doris married John Roland “Jack” McNabb in Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, and he preceded her in death in 1994. Doris was an active member of Immaculate Conception, where she was a member of the choir, and served as a coordinator with the Reach Program. She also belonged to the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed gardening, camping, making rosaries and participating in her prayer group. She will most be remembered for her love of her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include five children: John (Pam) McNabb, Amie (Mike) Chaney, Tom McNabb (Jamie Moore), Mary (Mark) Davidson and Julie McNabb, all of Morris; (30) grandchildren; (35) great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; two sons: Michael McNabb and Richard (Pam) McNabb; daughter Sue McNabb; grandchildren: twins: Michelle and Katherine Chaney, Michael Davidson and Jason McNabb; one brother John Bolatto and three sisters: Rose Girot, Theresa Baxter and Angeline Bogacz.
Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris, where Doris will be laid to rest with her husband Jack. Pallbearers will be: Donnie McNabb, Aaron McNabb, Joshua Bloomfield, Peter McNabb, James Andrew Chaney and Tanner Berg.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Doris’ memory to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
