Tama L. Russell

Age 67 of Morris, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at AMITA Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.

Born November 12, 1954 in Macomb, Illinois, Tama Lea was a daughter of Joseph Edwin and Edith Lorene (née Kreps) Pursell. She was raised and educated in Blandinsville, Illinois, and on May 2, 1992 she married Darrell Keith Russell in Morris.

Tama worked for several years as a customer service representative with  Safelight Auto Glass in Crest Hill, and she was a dutiful homemaker who took great effort into making the home feel warm and inviting no matter the time of year. She enjoyed decorating the house with her grandson Chance and loved to cook, especially her pizza cups which were a specialty. Tama was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Russell of Morris, two children: Nichole (Charles) Lacey of Morris, and James Johnson of Missouri; one grandson, Chance Lacey; three brothers and two sisters; mother-in-law LaVerne Russell; three brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tama was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and father-in-law James Russell.

Per Tama’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tama's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
