Suzanne Hubert

Age 76 of Kankakee, passed away peacefully at her home Monday evening, March 27, 2017.

Born November 3, 1940 in Chicago, Suzanne Marie was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Mabel Lucille (Friday) Jonker. She was raised in Chicago until moving with her family to Oak Forest at the age of 10. Suzanne was an active member of College Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a greeter and usher. She also volunteered her time with the Crisis Pregnancy Center, College Church Office and Manor Care Nursing Home.  In Suzanne's free time she loved baking and cooking, as well as conducting porcelain doll making classes. She enjoyed her flowers, and took great pleasure in gardening. Together, Suzanne and her husband Bill attended car shows, traveled and made many memorable road trips.  Suzanne will be remembered for her love of going to the movies, dining out after church and entertaining family and friends for any occasion.  Her most treasured activity was getting to spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Wilson "Bill" Hubert; one daughter: Audra Nanay of Schererville, Indiana; step-children: Paula Perkins of Camas, Washington, Mark (Katarina) Hubert of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David Hubert of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren: Julienne, Garrett, Tyler and Cierra; three brothers: Joseph (Anita) Jonker of Oak Forest, Daniel (Lana) Jonker of Sun Lakes, Arizona and Robin (Paula) Jonker of Frankfort; two sisters: Jill (Joe) Banks of Sahuarita, Arizona and Kimberly (Ted) Stalla or Bourbonnais, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Per Suzanne's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

The family welcomes friends to a Celebration of Suzanne's Life on Sunday May 7, 2017 at College Church of the Nazarene, 200 University Avenue in Bourbonnais. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until time of memorial life celebration 3:30 p.m.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers or gifts, may be made in Suzanne's memory to the American Childhood Cancer Organization or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
