Susie McElroy

Age 63 of Ransom and formerly of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Born March 10, 1953 in Lancaster, Ohio, Susie was the daughter of Lloyd and Lillie Gunneson-Poling. She was raised and educated in Yorkville, and graduated from Yorkville High School with the Class of 1972. On July 21, 1973, Susie married Roger L. McElroy in Oswego. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother, who valued spending time with her family more than anything. Susie cherished her grandchildren and spoiled them any chance she could.

Survivors include her three children: Patric (Lora) McElroy of Moberly, Missouri, Aaron McElroy of Ransom and Carrie (Scott) White of Beecher; six grandchildren: Cody, Amber, Mersadyes, Savannah, Brooklynne and Donovan; three brothers: Samuel (Donna) Poling of Sparta Michigan, and Dane (Debra) Poling and Dean (Shelly) Poling, both of Kent City, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband: Roger McElroy on March 23, 2008.

Visitation will be Monday November 7, 2016 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris.  Burial will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, Elwood,
