Susan Elizabeth Frost

Age 76, of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the home of her daughter in Manteno, Illinois.

Born on August 20, 1948, in Chicago, Susan was a daughter of Walter and Myrtle (Ellison) Soltysik. She spent her early years in Chicago before moving with her family to the Custer Park area, where she continued her primary school years. Susan attended Herscher High School, where she was a cheerleader and graduated with the Class of 1966. That same year, on December 31, she married Terry Frost in the Church of God the Prophecy. Together, they built a loving home and raised their family in Wilmington, Illinois.

Susan worked as a waitress at Barnett’s Restaurant in Braidwood in her younger years. She later dedicated 25 years of her life to Johnson & Johnson Personal Products, where she was known for her hard work and commitment until her retirement. Quiet and reserved, Susan was a woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved her dogs dearly and found joy in playing bingo online. However, nothing brought her more happiness than her cherished granddaughter, Nicole, who was the light of her life.

Survivors include her two children: Vicki (Travis) Roach of Manteno and Terry Frost (Kristina Sutton) of Wilmington; one granddaughter, Nicole Susan Roach; one sister, Pam (Jack) McGowan of Florida and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ken Schewe of Custer Park, Donald Dotson of Gardner, Yun Soltysik of Washington and Tena Frost of Kentucky, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; husband Terry on March 12, 2012 and siblings: Robert (Betty) Soltysik, Ronald Soltysik, Patricia Soltysik, Roger (Lucy) Soltysik, Phyllis Schewe, Phillip Soltysik, John Soltysik, Richard Soltysik, Daniel Soltysik and Colleen Dotson.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and Susan will be laid to rest in Oakwood Sunset Cemetery in Wilmington at a later date.
