Steven D. Chinski
Age 69 of Wilmington, passed away Monday, October 08, 2007 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, with his loving family by his side.
Born December 23, 1937 in Kankakee, Steve was a son of the late Matthew and Madeline (Yeates) Chinski. He was a graduate of Reed-Custer High School Class of 1955. Steve was a member of the Braidwood Lions Club and the Braidwood Recreation Club, was the Administrator of the Wilmington Moose Lodge #241 and was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood. Steve retired in 1993 after 37 years as a Planning Supervisor for Caterpillar Tractor Company.
Steve greatly enjoyed traveling and golfing, especially his yearly golf outings to Wisconsin and his annual vacation with friends from Wilmington and Lincoln Lake to Mexico. He enjoyed gardening, the Chicago Bears and most especially his family.
Survivors include his loving wife Jan (nee Hill), two brothers: Matthew (Teri) of New Lenox and Dan (Judy) of Braidwood; one sister Stasia (Dennis, deceased) Hextell of Morris; two sons: Steven A. of Sierra Vista, AZ and Mark (Jessica) of San Antonio, TX; one daughter Michele (Deasel) Ball of Lenexa, KS, four grandchildren: Jacqueline and Ty Ball, and Mark and David Chinski; loving mother-in-law Geneva Hill of Wilmington, sister-in-law Nancy Hill of Ft. Wayne, IN, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 9:20 AM from the funeral home processing to Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood where mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM with Reverend Danilo Soriano officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded after services and inurnment will take place at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee, IL.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Steve's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
