Age 70 of Morris, passed away Thursday morning, January 8, 2015 at Morris Hospital.
Born June 20, 1944 in Clifton, Illinois, Stasia Ann was a daughter of the late Matthew and Madeline (Yeates) Chinski. She was raised and educated in Custer Park and graduated from Reed Custer High School with the Class of 1962. On February 6, 1965, Stasia married Dennis Hextell in Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood. Together Stasia and Dennis farmed in Wauponsee Township before moving to Peru, where they made their home for the following 20 years. In 1993, they returned to Morris and Stasia worked in bookkeeping at R-Place until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris and the Braidwood Recreation Club. Stasia will be most remembered as a devoted Nonie.
Survivors include her four children: Kevin (Julie) Hextell of LaSalle, Julie (Jim Ryan) Hextell of Wilmette, Tierney (Robert) Morrison of Morris and Karen (Nick) Sobkowiak of Utica; seven grandchildren: Riley Hextell, Annabelle, Tessa and Teddy Morrison and Madeleine, Ramona and Carter Ryan; two brothers: Matthew (Teri) Chinski of New Lenox and Dan (Judy) Chinski of Braidwood; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jan Chinski of Joliet, Kathleen Romines of Chicago, Michael (Brenda) Hextell of Morris and Steven (Angela) Hextell of The Woodlands, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as 'her favorite Harriet' Christine Walters of Minooka.
Stasia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dennis in 2003; brother Steven Chinski and brother-in-law Larry Romines.
Visitation and video tribute will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow Monday morning January 12th at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Morris.
