Shirley M. Lehman

Age 76 of Coal City passed away Sunday evening, June 21, 2015 at her home.

Born August 3, 1938 in Morris, Shirley was the daughter of the late Henry and Ann (Hejna) Berta.  She was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1956.  Shirley married Donald Lehman in Assumption Catholic Church, and worked as a secretary for Caterpillar for numerous years.  She enjoyed reading mystery novels, cooking, playing cards and especially going to the movies.

Survivors include her two children: Michelle (Andre) Schindlbeck of Winona, Minnesota and Michael Lehman of Coal City; three grandchildren: Dakota, Gabrielle and Danielle Schindlebeck; her special pets: Snoopy and Yum Yum, and dear lifelong friend: Pat Appleton of Coal City.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Donald Lehman on December 6, 1995, and one brother: Donald Berta.

A visitation will be held on Thursday June 25, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Reverend Robert Noesen from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church will officiate.  Cremation rites will follow the service.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Shirley’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
