Shirley Ann Hack
(nee Frey)
Age 83 of Coal City, passed away Saturday evening February 2, 2013 at her home.
Born April 24, 1929 in Morris, Shirley was a daughter of the late Alfred Frey and Laura Conklin (Nee Kanimecamp). She was raised in Morris and resided throughout the years in Morris , Wilmington and Coal City. She held employment at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, as well as with Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet. Most recently Shirley worked as a Correctional Officer at the Dwight Correctional Center, from where she retired in 1992.
Survivors include her five children: Larry (Susan) Tarman of Goose Lake, Robert (Gail) Tarman of Wilmington, Laura (Tony) Esparza and William (Tina) Tarman both of Coal City, and Linda (Mike) Bober of Chicago; grandchildren: Matthew Tarman, Aimee Tarman-Meister, Luke Tarman, Lisa Tarman, Robert Tarman, Tony Esparza, Amy Esparza-Kozek, Sandra Esparza-Pierce, Alex Esparza, William Tarman, Tara Tarman, Chris Tarman and Austin Bober; great grandchildren: Kristopher, Justin, Aliyah, Brayden, Dakota, Nolan, Kendyl, Joshua, Tyler, Caleb, Aidan, Paiton, Lyla, Devun and Dylun; sister-in-law Sharon Harrington and cousin Danny Frey, as well as special friends: Dorothy Lucas, Vera Pavlis and Erma McCubbin.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister Margorie Frey and brothers: Donald Frey, William Frey and Pat Harrington.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday February 5, 2013 from 9:00AM until 10:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Tuesday at 11:00AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating, and burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Morris.
Pallbearers will be: Bob Tarman, Tony Esparza, Alex Esparza, Bill Tarman, Chris Tarman, Jamie Kozek and Kristopher Esparza. Honorary pallbearers will be: Matthew Tarman, Aimee Meister, Luke Tarman, Lisa Tarman, Amy Kozek, Sandra Pierce, Tara Tarman and Austin Bober.
