Shirley A. Guistat

Age 77 of Morris, passed away Friday afternoon, February 3, 2017 at her home.

Born June 5, 1939 in Ashland, Kentucky, Shirley Ann was a daughter of the late Marvin and Opal (Stephens) Patton. She was raised and educated in Olive Hills, Kentucky. Shirley worked at Bimet Corporation from where she retired as a supervisor after 31 years of service. She then went on to work for the Morris Daily Herald. Shirley enjoyed camping and loved to read. Family was of most importance to her, and she cherished her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years James Peter Guistat; three children: Chuck Gilliam of Lexington, Kentucky, Mark Gilliam of Morehead, Kentucky and Teresa (Tom) Stott of Morris; three grandchildren: Jake (Hilary) Stott, Jessica Stott and Dalton Gilliam; one great grandson Oscar Metes and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Robert and James Patton and one sister Louise Justice.

Cremation rites are being accorded, and Shirley will be laid to rest in the family lot at Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Shirley's memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
