Sharon J. Morris

Sharon J. Morris, 88, of Morris, passed away Friday morning, December 2, 2022 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Ctr in Morris.
Born September 18, 1934 in Morris, she was the daughter of Sigurd and Marjorie (Wallace) Hjemvick. She graduated from Morris High School, St. Francis University in Joliet and received her masters degree from Northern Illinois University. She was an elementary teacher at Garfield School and later a librarian and teacher at Center Grade School. Sharon married Dean Morris on December 27, 1953 in Morris. They lived most of their married life in the Morris area.
She is survived by her children, Allen (Joan) Morris of Morris, Dean Morris of Bristol, WI, Margi (Roch) Monahan of Seneca and Kristen Fischer of Florida; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Sig (Mary Lou) Hjemvick of Phelps, WI; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dean; two sisters, Sandy Wehrle and Sue Williamson.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, DAR and former member of Rebecca Caudill Society.
Sharon was an avid gardener, collected antiques, enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer Association or Lightways Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church.
