Seth A. Whitmire

Age 39 of Wilmington, formerly Rosman, North Carolina, passed away Monday July 6, 2015 at University of Chicago Hospital.

Born April 15, 1976 in Brevard, North Carolina, Seth is a son of Dale Whitmire and Evelyn Beddingfield-Chapman. He was raised and educated in Rosman, and graduated from Rosman High School with the Class of 1994. On November 27, 1999, Seth married Jo Ellen Browning in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife: Jo Ellen Whitmire of Wilmington; parents: Dale Whitmire of Rosman, North Carolina and Evelyn Chapman of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina; two children: Ashley and Christopher Whitmire; maternal and paternal grandmothers: Jessie Beddingfield of Whitewater, North Carolina and Ruth Whitmire of Rosman, North Carolina; mother and father-in-law: Lynn and Bill Browning of Wilmington; three siblings: Ethan Whitmire, Sarah (Jeremy) Reid and Lilly Chapman, all of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Seth was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandfathers: Ray Beddingfield and J.B. Whitmire.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 5:00 PM until the time of Funeral Services at 7:00 PM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.  Pastor Jack Newberry will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made in Seth’s memory to the family for distribution to charities of their choosing.
