Age 32 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 4, 2018 as the result of a cardiac condition.

Born May 5, 1985 in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Sarah Anne is a daughter of Deborah Marchbank of Wilmington and Charles Raymond Hagel, Jr. of Oak Lawn. She was raised and educated in the Coal City Schools and was currently employed as a home health caregiver. She enjoyed the outdoors, and took pleasure in camping and fishing. Music was always an important part of Sarah’s life, and she was always up for a road trip. Her family was of utmost importance, and she cherished spending time with her children. Sarah will be remembered as a kind and generous soul who was always there for anyone in need.

Survivors include her parents: Debbie Marchbank and Skip Hagel; step-father, Richard Ilkanic of Wilmington; two children: Coby Smith and Natalie Smith; her loving partner and the father of her daughter, Dylan Peden of Minooka; six siblings: Richie Ilkanic, Mike Ilkanic, Robert Ilkanic, Cliff Ilkanic, Katie Ilkanic and Luke Ilkanic; niece and nephews: Isabella, Little Richie and LuLu; and one uncle, Tom Marchbank of Oklahoma, as well as her best friend Ashley Wohlford of Plainfield.

Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents, several uncles and her “one blood” brother Charles Raymond Hagel, III.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. celebration of life services at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Pastor Dallas Henry from First Christian Church in Wilmington will officiate.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
