Ruth B. Riccio
Age 85 of Diamond and formerly Oak Lawn and Bourbonnais, passed away Thursday afternoon May 23, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born November 19, 1927 in Tannery, Kentucky, Ruth was a daughter of the late Everett and Nara Osborne-Ridge. She was married to Michael Riccio and he preceded her May 28, 2002.
Ruth retired from General Motors in LaGrange, where she worked as a data entry operator. She was a member of Coal City United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the Friendship Circle and belonged to the Ladies of the Moose.
Survivors include children: Corol (Robert, Jr.) Joly of Wilmington, Leonard (Adela) Riccio of Mission Hills, California, Linda (the late Jerry) Thill of Joliet and Thomas (Eileen) Riccio of Charleston, South Carolina; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son William Riccio; her grandson Gregory Joly and son-in-law Jerry Thill.
Cremation rites have been accorded per Ruth's wishes. Graveside services will be held Monday June 17, 2013 at 2:30PM in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Ruth will be laid to rest with her husband Michael. Those wishing to attend the committal services for Ruth and military honors for Michael, are asked to meet at the cemetery welcome center by 2:15PM. Reverend Dr. Thomas R. Logsdon from the Coal City United Methodist Church will officiate.
Cremation services and memorial arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Coal City. (815/634-2125)
