Rudy Anderson

Age 68 of Gardner and formerly of Coal City and Wilmington, passed away Wednesday morning, December 21, 2016 at his home.

Born October 26, 1948 in Joliet, Rudolph was a son of the late Gerald and Genevieve (Malnar) Anderson. He attended Sacred Heart School in Joliet and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1969. Rudy was employed with Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet, and retired after 32 years of service. He was a member of Lake Point Club in Wilmington; was a great fan of Elvis, and enjoyed golfing, photography and caring for his lawn. Rudy was devoted to his family and cherished spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife Jan (nee Bowden), whom he married July 29, 1983; children: Brandy (Pete) Fleming of Burlingame, California, Cathi (Carl) Matney of Seneca, Kimberly (Richard) Reeder of Coal City and Jennifer (Paul) Thompson of Gardner; (11) grandchildren: Jessica, Jack, Cole Rudolph, Steven, Allison, Ricky, Ashley, Blake, Cecilee, Ethan and Jacob; one great grandson Clayton; one brother Gerald (Jan) Anderson of Virginia and two sisters: Maureen Berdis of Joliet and Kathleen Kelly (Danny Lawless) of Wilmington; one sister-in-law Peggy Bowden of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his faithful companion Lilly.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 203 Liberty Street in Gardner. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rudy's memory to The Morris Hospital Foundation for purposes of the patient transportation services, 150 West High Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
