Ruben Villarreal

Age 63 of Morris, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at his home.

Born August 12, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas, Ruben was a son of Inez and Emma (Thatcher) Villarreal. As a child, his family relocated to Mazon, Illinois and he would later settle in Morris and make it his home. Ruben worked as a maintenance contractor for many years and was well known for being a fun loving guy. He was happiest when he was with his family and friends, especially when he was with his grandchildren. Ruben's joy for life will be his lasting legacy, leaving many fond memories for those who loved him to cherish.

Survivors include his children: Ruben Villarreal (Misty Moore) and Richard (Constance) Villarreal, both of Danville, IL, Nicholas Villarreal (Mary Centko) of Marseilles, IL, Jazmine Villarreal of Independence, MO, and Frisco Villarreal of Mandan, North Dakota; fifteen grandchildren: Devin, RuNyia, William, Rontez, Jamari, Richard, Jamorris, Sonny, Isabella, Melody, Leiani, Hayden, Xannon, Avin, and Jada, as well as six great grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters: Fernando (Carla) Villarreal of Morris, Daniel (Barb) Villarreal and Armando Villarreal, both of Omaha, NE, Rosalinda Villarreal of Morris, Elda (Samantha Collins) Villarreal of Braidwood, IL, and Orlando (Patricia) Villarreal and Monica Gonzalez, both of Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Minerva Villarreal.

Per his wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and services are being arranged for a later date.
