Age 79 of Wilmington passed away Tuesday September 29, 2015 at her home.

Born January 4, 1936 in Nokomis, Illinois, Rosemary was a daughter of the late James Henry and Mary Jane Greene-Rhodes.  She was raised and educated in Wilmington, and on February 5, 1952 Rosemary married Paul Ivan Countryman, Sr. in Joliet.  She attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Wilmington, and enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending her time with all of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years: Paul Countryman of Wilmington; five children: Paul (Georgia) Countryman, Jr. of Braidwood, Linda (Arden) Whitcomb of Burton, Michigan, Brenda (Virgil) Birchard of Braceville, Jim (Amy) Countryman of Englewood, Florida and Diane (Ray) Rollberg of Wilmington; ten grandchildren: Kellie, Beth, Amanda, Billy, Ricky, Jennifer, Jamie, Gina, Jimmy and Robert; 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one sister: Fern Howell of Wilmington; two sisters-in-law: Helen Rhodes of Ramsey, Illinois and Velma Rhodes of Wilmington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson: Jesse Countryman; and eight siblings: John, Arthur, Virgil, Opal, Oral, Rosie, Jim and Joe.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington, and Rosemary’s grandchildren will act as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rosemary’s memory to the family for their distribution.
