Rosemarie Anne Vrtis

"RoRo"

Age 44 of Morris and formerly Berwyn, passed away Thursday November 22, 2007 at her home.

Born November 16, 1963 in Berwyn, Rosie was a daughter of the late Paul and Jeanne Johncock - Vrtis. She was raised and educated in Berwyn and was a graduate of Morton West High School. Rosie was a former P.T.O. member at St. Mary Celle in Berwyn, as well as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where she was employed in the Joliet office as a Program Coordinator. She enjoyed spending time with children diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy as well as making a difference in the lives of others. Rosie loved nature walks, going out to eat, dancing and roller skating, but most of all cherished spending time with her family. Her enduring spirit came from the love of her family and she sends a special thanks to Donna, Jeanne and Tony, who all made her life possible through organ transplant. Rosie's motto was: "It's not the life you live, it's the lives you change... Just smile and never stop fighting... "

Survivors include her daughter Jennifer (Brad) Knight; brothers and sisters: Mary C. (Nina) Vrtis, Donna (Robert) Patyk, Anthony (Rose) Vrtis, Theresa (the late Thomas) Vrtis-Jelenich, Jeanne (Raymond) Canole, John Vrtis and Joseph (Elizabeth) Vrtis. Nieces and Nephews: April (Nathan) Albrecht, Jason Jelenich, Karen Patyk, Edward Vrtis, John Vrtis, Joseph Vrtis, David Vrtis and Pauly Vrtis and three great nieces: Lauren, Amanda and Dana.
