Rose Edith Ziegler

Age 89 of Morris, passed away Friday morning September 14, 2012 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Born January 30, 1923 in Edgewood, Illinois, Rose Edith was a daughter of the late Christian and Ruth Finch-Vogel. She was educated in rural schools and graduated high school in St. Elmo, Illinois. On October 25, 1947 Rose married Norman Ziegler in Saint Clair Catholic Church in Altamont, Illinois. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, the Norman Homemakers and served as an election judge. Rose enjoyed going to the Moose, especially for fish on Friday and will be remembered for her love of working in the garden and going to garage sales. Rose truly cherished her family and treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Ronald (Janet) Ziegler and Pamela (John) McNabb, both of Morris, Angela (William) Walsh of Verona and Diane (Mark) Washburn of Morris; nine grandchildren: Brenda (Jeff) Edwards of Morris, Tim (Jerri) Ziegler of Plano, Christian (Rickee) Ziegler of Minooka, John (Alana) McNabb and Aaron (Addie) McNabb, both of Morris, Sarah (Cecil) McNabb-Cicirello of Chicago and Peter McNabb, Abigail McNabb and Karen (Chase) Olson, all of Morris; great grandchildren: Logan, Alexa, Arieanna, Jenisis, Ethan, Jersi, Landen, Graham, Mason, Norman, Sawyer, Brody, Audry, Toby and Adam, with another expected in February of 2013; three sisters: Evelyn (the late Vic) Berglund of Minnesota, Mary (the late Dick) Blacet of Decatur, Illinois and Dolores (Gary) Schoenhoff of Effingham, Illinois, and one brother-in-law: Larry (the late Grenelda) Wickholm of Florida, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rose Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband Norman Ziegler on May 9, 2003; sisters: Gertrude (Francis) Kramer, Lucy (Leo) Kramer, Johanna (Gene) Zacha, Verena (Chuck) Wilken and Virginia (Roy) Meyers and brothers and sisters-in-law: Evelyn (Richard) Budde, Luella (Phil) Hargishimer, Alberta (Wilbert) Budde and Alice (Ray) Marxmann.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2012 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow Wednesday September 19th at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris, where Rose Edith will be laid to rest with her husband Norman.

Pallbearers will be: John McNabb, Aaron McNabb, Peter McNabb, Tim Ziegler, Christian Ziegler and Chase Olson.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rose's memory to Immaculate Conception Building Fund or Immaculate Conception Catholic School, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
