Rose Marie Crichton

Age 90 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at River North of Bradley Health and Rehabilitation.

Born January 8, 1926 in Joliet, Illinois, Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Elmer and Cora (States) Hulbert.  She was raised and educated in Wilmington, and went on to gain employment as a secretary to both Wilmington High School and Goose Lake Recreational Club for many years.  Rose loved to bowl, watch the Cubs and Bulls play, and had a great passion for gardening.

Survivors include two daughters: Donna (Ernest Robbins) Graefen  and Joyce Crichton; one son: Clay Crichton; two brothers-in-law: Lawrence (Kathy) Crichton and  John (Marie) Crichton; one sister-in-law: Delores (Gene) Weed; (9) grandchildren: Michelle (John) Littig, Stacy (Jamal) Ahmad, Paul (Jody) Graefen, Jason (Gina) Graefen, Jaclyn (Ronnie) Wilson, Chad (Corrie) Graefen, Valerie (Armando) Arellano, Ashley Graefen, Lee (Andrea) Graefen, and Theodore, Karen and Kasey Crichton ; (20) great grandchildren; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; and special friend Donald Crichton.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.  Funeral services will follow on Thursday January 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, 401 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington, with Reverend Tom Kingery officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rose’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington D.C., 20090.
