Ronald P. Thorson

Ronald P. Thorson, 84, of Yorkville, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.
Born September 8, 1937 in Sandwich, he was the son of Trumen and Thelma (Larson) Thorson. He graduated from Newark High School with the class of 1955. He married Ann Anderson on August 5, 1967 at the Oswego Presbyterian Church. For most of their married life they lived in Yorkville. Ron was a veteran of the U S Army and served from 1960 to 1962. He owned and operated ServiceMaster for 10 years and later went into insurance sales.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ann; his children, Kirk (Jennifer), Julie (Andrew) and Jon (fiancé, Rachel Falk); grandchildren, William, Leah, Jude, and Lydia Thorson and Bryce and Cayden Kennard; one sister, Barbara Thorson.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
He was an active member of the Helmar Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be given to the Helmar Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Helmar Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven C. Lombardo officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Helmar Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
