Ron Redman

Age 57 of Wilmington passed away Tuesday April 26, 2016 at his home.

Born September 14, 1958 in Joliet, Ronald Charles was a son of the late Calvin D. and Wilma Pauline Fox-Redman. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and went on to serve in the United States Army, from 1977 to 1979, in Hawaii.  Ron was a jack of all trades, working for multiple establishments such as Dow Chemical, the Autoban Country Club, as a bartender at Déjà vu, and most recently at Petro Stopping Center in Wilmington.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing in pool leagues, and playing the guitar.  Ron had a host of friends, was well known throughout town, and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his four siblings: Randall (Laura) Redman of Wilmington, and Donna Kay Redman, Brenda (Greg) Redmon and John Ray Redman, all of Johnston City, Illinois; nine nieces and nephews: Michael, Ami, Josh, Mark, Brian, Jacob, Andrew, Shannel and Lucas; dear friends: Clay (Denise) Webb of Coal City, Brenda (Tom) Stacy, Tim (Megan) and Bradley Stacy, Jermey Stacy, Pep (Colette) Sanders,  and Dave Thomas, all of Wilmington, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and Ron will be buried with full military honors in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, Elwood, on May 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  Family and friends who wish to follow in procession to the cemetery are encouraged to meet at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington on Monday by 9:15 a.m.
