Ron Klicker
Age 62 of rural Seneca, Illinois and formerly of Eldon, Iowa, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Morris Hospital.
Born January 10, 1953 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Ronald Lee is a son of Marianne (Chickering) Klicker of Agency, Iowa and the late Harry Edward Klicker. He was a graduate of Cardinal High School in Eldon, and went on to follow his father’s career as an electrician. Ron was a proud union electrician, who was well known, respected and loved, by his fellow brothers throughout the country. He served his apprenticeship with IBEW Local #173, and recently retired from IBEW Local #176 out of Joliet, Illinois, after 40 years of service. Ron enjoyed sports, and was a great fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes and Dallas Cowboys. He took pleasure in collecting coins, and will be remembered most for his time spent with family, friends and his dogs.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Jeanette Lee (Payne), whom he married on September 11, 1971 in Bladensburg, Iowa; four children: Trent (Melissa) Klicker of Seneca, Illinois, Kelly (Randy) Green of Quincy, Illinois, Wes (Kim) Klicker of Mazon, Illinois and Ryan Klicker (Adrienne Brady) of Morris, Illinois; (15) grandchildren, whom he was the proud papa to: Cole, Abby, Maddy, Casey, Dison, Teira, Braelyn, Anna, Cayden, Lexi, Hayden, Leslie, Haylee, Merek and Jackson; his mother Marianne Klicker of Agency, Iowa; one brother Chuck (Jeanne) Klicker of Texas; two sisters: Kathy (Dan) Thrasher of Agency, Iowa and Jody (Bill) Conrad of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother-in-law: Mike (Letitia) Payne, and two sisters-in-law: Janeen (Bryan) Morris and Jo Ellen (Scott) McDowell, as well as his dear companion ‘ Bear Dog’.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Harry Edward Klicker and one sister-in-law Carol Mace.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 7, 2015 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris, and again on Thursday April 9, 2015 at Reece Funeral Home, 607 East 2nd Street in Ottumwa, Iowa from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Agency Cemetery in Agency, Iowa.
