Roger Lee Soltysik

Age 70 of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Saturday October 8, 2011 in Springfield, Missouri.

Born October 1, 1941 in Chicago, Roger was the son of Walter and Myrtle Ellison Soltysik.A He married Lucille Lawhorn on September 4, 1965 in Custer Park, where they lived and started their family.A Roger worked inA Communications for the United States Government and was a United States Army Veteran.A He lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 13 years, moving from Lebanon, Illinois. Roger was a member of the Oakland/Promiseland Fire Department, and was an active member of the Republican Party.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Mountain Home, Arkansas; five children: Tina (Don) Adcock of Plainfield, Christopher (Stephanie) Soltysik of Mannasas, Virginia, Becky (Robert) Ketrow of Trenton, Illinois, Mary (Kirk) Pearson of Shawnee, Kansas, and Wendi (Steven) Jones of O'Fallon, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; four sisters: Colleen (Don) Dodson of Texaco, Illinois, Phyllis (Kenneth) Schewe and Susan (Terry) Frost, both of Wilmington, and Pam (Jack) McGowan of Dunnellon, Florida; several nieces and nephews, and his dachshund, Sammie.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Kirby and Family Funeral Home, 600 Hospital Drive in Mountain Home, Arkansas (870-425-6978 / www.KirbyandFamily.com) and again Thursday, October 13, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 1:00 p.m. at Freitag-ReevesA & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.

Burial will be in the Custer Park Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Roger's memory to his family for their distribution.A
