Rodney L. Nars
Age 67 of Naperville and formerly of Chicago and the southeast suburbs, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home.
Born August 3, 1948 in Chicago, Rodney Louis was a son of the late John J. and Geraldine D (DePatie) Nars. He was raised in Chicago; graduated from Gage Park High School with the Class of 1967, and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Rodney was a retired insurance broker.
A member of the Auburn Park Lodge #798 A.F. & A. M., Rodney was a Knights Templar in the York Rite and also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Noble Order of the Shrine. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, tennis and fishing.
Survivors include one daughter Dawn (George) Anyfiotis of Bloomingdale, Illinois; one granddaughter Zoe Anyfiotis; two brothers: David (Diane) Nars of Goose Lake and Thomas (Lisa) Nars of Wheeling; two nephews and one niece.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Morris, where Rodney will be laid to rest with his parents.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rodney's memory to his family for their distribution.
